A good a day as any to start a thread on this. It's OU-Texas weekend. I think our big college football rivalries might be the closest thing to the atmosphere of derbies over there.
Oklahoma - Texas is unique in that it's on a neutral field (The Cotton Bowl) in the middle of the State Fair or Texas in Dallas. The Cotton Bowl is conveniently halfway between Norman (OU) and Austin (Texas),200 miles from each campus. Each side brings 46,000 fans, with Oklahoma fans in crimson on one side of the 50 yard line and Texas in burnt orange on the other.
It's halftime... Oklahoma leads 17-13 despite having just one first down... Their TDs came off of a kick return and an interception.
And while I live in Texas, I went to Oklahoma... so I'm in crimson and cream today. I never wear burnt orange... never.
