Many people were saying that Mr.Fox should have been starting every game for NCFC.his superior passing skills were second to none...Well, I keep checking the sqads of MUFC. LFC. Arse. etc and I can't find him anywhere. Has he retired from football?

Fox always was a very talented distributor of a football, but his all round game was painfully mediocre. Those who couldn't see that lived in Fratton Park assist delusion land

He went on loan there but I don't know if they took him on. He may be without a club...

Pretty sure he is currently without a club. I always liked Fox and his passing was usually very good, but his overall play and positioning wasn't great. He shouldn't have a problem finding a club in League 1 though or a lower level Championship side. Seems strange he's still without a club this close to the season starting, pretty sure Blackpool would take him.

Like Fox. Liked him when he played for us in the Prem also.

He lacked physicality but technically he was brilliant, and as Lambert always said, he'd never give the ball away - regardless of if it was short snappy passing or long range drilled passes to the flanks. We missed that option over the course of the last 2 seasons.

Ironically - had he cost 8.5 million from Sporting I think more fans would have wanted him to play. RVW never had the physicality required in my opinion - Fox was certainly no weaker than him!

In the right team I still feel Fox could have an influence on a team - I felt he did in our first Prem Season under Lambert.

Good luck to him.

I heard that Fox wanted to move back up north to be near his family, the reason is here

Wonder whether he has an offer from Blackpool and is holding out for something better.

Really sad to see that Foxy has got to 2nd September without finding himself a club! The man is only 30, got plenty to offer somebody - good League One side perhaps.

I'm actually surprised that someone like Sheffield United are not interested, I watched them a couple of times this year.......and they are severely lacking some class in midfield.

I'd be very surprised if he hasn't at least had an offer from Blackpool, and with that being close to Manchester would have thought a move there would suit him!

Decent passer but not Premiership quality I'm afraid. Would do a job for as said above a league 1/lower Championship side.

My next door neighbour is a Barnsley season ticket holder and he said that most Barnsley fans would have him back in a shot, really impressed there for a while but then had an illness of some sort which kept him on the bench.

David Fox has gone on trial at former club Colchester

I hope he gets a deal there, still think he should be playing in the championship but a move to league one is ok, especially when its a club he knows well already

all the best to him

I find it very odd that no Championship clubs, or failing that top League 1 clubs would be interested in him, rather than a team that could easily be playing in League 2 next season. He was superb in our first season in the Premier League, hence why he was offered a new deal, and yet just a couple of years later, without really doing anything wrong, he's on trial at a poor League 1 club.

Best of luck to him though, good little player with a great attitude.

We don't know that he hasn't had other offers, he may have made the mistake of getting offers but holding out for something better which never came along.

I'd bet my bottom dollar that Blackpool made him an offer, but I think I'd rather play for Colchester than that cowboy outfit. Especially if it was a Karl Oyston £250 a week + appearance fee special.

Their current manager is their former youth team manager and was around at the same time as Fox, so may well be that he is keen to play for that individual. With Fox there are a lot of teams who just don't suit him (including us under Hughton). He's only ever going to look good in a team which tries to get the ball on the floor and play attacking football with a lot of possession.

He'd have looked a lot better in our team today than he would have in Rotherhams (although that's a bit of a canary call comment because I watched it on the radio),but with them getting men behind the ball and countering with pace - that isn't David Fox at all. So perhaps after two years of frustration he just wants to play somewhere where he thinks he'll fit in well with the people and the system and enjoy his football again.
