Grant Holt to Huddersfield

Huddersfield have signed Grant Holt on loan until 8th November (confirmed by BBC).

I hope it gets extended until January, Holt returning to Carrow Road on 13th December would be great to see as it will probably be the last time if we go up (as long as he has a stinker).

Seeing as Huddersfield are at the opposite end of the table and he'll be leaving before we play them - all the best Grant!!!

As said, hopefully it'll get extended to January so we can see him at CR in December. Hopefully he'll do well there.

This transfer was just a rumour until Huddersfield named him on the subs bench about an hour before their game.

Quite a surreal way for their fans to find out about a signing, even if it is just a one month loan. Sounds as if the deal was rushed through today.

Holt getting 2 assists for Huddersfield as they beat wolves 3-1 away to keep us top of the league, love ya Holty

Left the pitch to a standing ovation.

On his first game he came off the bench and Huddersfield fans credited him with changing the game (which they won).

Wigan were 21st in the table last time I looked, so Rosler will probably be sacked soon.

Conceded a penalty yesterday

Fortunately though for him it went wide.

Great interview of Grant Holt here for anybody who follows him: http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/carlisle-united/latest/grant-holt-wigan-treatment-petty-but-won-t-get-me-down-1.1168777

Explains his treatment at Wigan, a brief mention of Norwich - giving us credit for giving former players jobs (talking about Carlisle):

Holt has strong views on United. He believes the club could go further commercially, do more for young fans, reconnect with its soul. “At Norwich you’ve got Adrian Forbes coaching the Under-15s, Darren Huckerby doing the 18s, Neil Adams the manager. Lads who have come back. We don’t use that enough here.
Uwe Rosler also responded to the criticism, his reason is really lame. I now feel pretty sorry for Grant Holt to be honest. Pretty shoddy treatment, the only reason given was that Holt had refused to move closer to Wigan. But he was very vocal before signing for Wigan that he wanted to move back to Carlisle and they signed him knowing that.

“I have not read the interview, I do not know what he has said,” Rosler told the Evening Post.

“I think heading into the game tomorrow is probably not the right time to start to open up a discussion.

“The only thing I can say is that two weeks after I started in the job I asked Grant Holt to make a commitment to the club like the club made a commitment to him with the three-year contract in terms of moving closer to the area.

“Grant did not want to do that and then we both knew where we were heading.

“Grant got an unbelievable chance going to Aston Villa which we did not deny him and we moved on. When he returned to Villa I said I think it was better that we went separate ways.

“We were always honest with him, always up front. We asked for a commitment and I didn’t get that commitment and that is why we moved on.”
If that is the reason then sounds like Rosler is being very heavy handed. A lot of people wanted him as Norwich manager, but he sounds like a petty moron and Wigan are 21st in the league despite having a fairly strong squad with some very talented players (Maloney, McMananaman, Watson, etc).

The honest answer would probably have been that they want to force him out to save cash. Rosler loses face here in my opinion, and Wigan fans look like tossers for the vitriol they give him on twitter.

He's extended his loan at Huddersfield, meaning we see him at Carrow Road in December.

They play Ipswich tomorrow, he will either score or get sent off.

Bet he and Butterfield got a good reception. Will be weird to see Holty lining up against us, though I suppose we saw him before for Villa. What odds he'll score?

Scored again on Saturday, an assist from an inch perfect cross too.

When he signed for Huddersfield they were 20th in the league, unbeaten in 7 since he arrived and they are putting that down to the performances of Holt!

Seeing this makes me want him in our squad. Turns out he isn't past it after all, he just needed some confidence and to feel appreciated.

Poor Holty. Went onto Twitter just (been avoiding it to make sure I dont see any Game of Thrones spoilers like last week). Wanted to see what Holty had to say about our promotion. Instead found this, and it would seem that Holt has reacted by deleting is Twitter. Poor Holty, will always be a legend to me

I hear Holt and family are moving back to Norwich.
Where did you hear this? I thought his missus hated Norfolk, loved the North, and they moved to Carlisle to live in their dream home?

Surely he isn't down to Lowestoft's level just yet, got a year or two to give to Carlisle?

Can't reveal my source on this one.

Might be the case that actually they found they like Norwich better

I've heard the same from an impeccable source.  I've no doubt it's true. I was surprised after all the love for Carlisle but a lot of people find this part of the world very attractive especially with young children and even more so if you plan to take up a career in the media and need good links to London and a radio station that lives you.

Everything apart art from the move is my speculation but he said on last week's Scrimmage that he wanted media work.
