Being linked with us this morning.

30 year old Argentine striker who plays for Celta Vigo. (Thought we'd just got rid of one of those!)

From his Wiki "He is nicknamed el Bati, for his physical resemblance to former footballer Gabriel Batistuta".

Well let's hope he plays like him.

Surprised if there is anything in this one. We're an easy and plausible club to link to for foreign journalists or agents looking to stir up a bit of faux interest, bit like the Galatasary rightback earlier in the week which has gone silent.

Still, if either of these materialise happy to eat my hat, unlike Paddy

Something about Guidetti as well. I think the story is that Celta Vigo are looking at him to replace this guy, though some have interpreted it as Norwich looking at both Larrivey and Guidetti - though this seems inaccurate.

Someone else saying Guidetti already signed for Sevilla so a lot of salt required

Fee suggested at 1.5m

http://thecarrowcrowd.com/2015/07/10/norwich-close-in-on-la-liga-striker/

Seems a very odd signing, having just got rid of Becchio and seemingly having no role for Lafferty or RvW, and Hooper being on the fringes, this is not the type of striker I would expect us to go for. Is he better, or does he offer us anything we havent already got.

Surprised this one seems to have something in it

We were always likely to sign a 4th striker and Wolf and Lafferty were always likely to go.

This guy seems to be another physical presence. Would rather have Gestede but I guess this will leave a lot more cash for strengthening other positions.

I have a feeling we will not be spending as much as I and others have thought in this window. Alex Neil has a lot of confidence in the players we already have. Do a Burnley, as it was. Hopefully more successfully.

I dunno, I think we'll end up spending a fair bit. A few million already spent on Dorrans, Mulumbu would have had a pretty big signing on fee, Brady is looking like it could be 5-7m and you'd imagine we'll go for a class central defender. The fact that Yedlin hasn't happened makes me think we're looking elsewhere at right back, another fee.

Although I guess my idea of a fair bit is less than some neutrals have suggested that we would need to spend.

Seems odd he would come, have a medical then we would change our minds...

Possibly another (more desirable) target has become available?

His agent doesn't seem to happy with us! something must have come up in medical or maybe the Blackburn lad has become available?

The forward travelled to East Anglia on Friday to undergo a medical after a fee of around £1.4m was agreed between the two clubs.

But, according to Marca, the Canaries pulled the plug on the deal and Larrivey has now returned to Spain to resume pre-season training with Celta.

The player's agent, Daniel dos Reis, slammed Norwich for the way they handled the transfer.

He told Fiches.com: "There has not been any problem that may have lead to this.

"Nor has there been any change in the numbers of the operation. This is a total lack of seriousness, professionalism and ethics by Norwich."

Could be that something was picked up on the medical, or this was used as an excuse the way Everton did with Fer when Fellaini didnt move and they then wanted to back out of the transfer.

Any agent would want to dispell aggressively any idea of a failed medical.

Im sure it will all come out over the next few weeks.

I wonder what we are looking for in a forward though if we were looking at this chap. Presumably he ticks a set of boxes (that maybe an alternative ticks better?). Id like to know what those boxes are as otherwise this is a pretty underwhelming target to have

I can totally imagine some prima donna footballer turning up late with an air of arrogance and Alex Neil saying something like "Get tae fook back tae Spain ye wee bawbag".

Probably just another development changing things though. I wonder whether the RVW move to Lisbon is back on, meaning that Alex Neil will have the budget to move up a level to another target.

That would make some sense.
