Any basketball fans on here? Since watching Space Jam as a kid, I always follow everything Chicago, so I always keep a look out to see how the Chicago Bulls are doing! I admit basketball isnt the most entertaining sport to watch!
Wizards fan here. Only been into it for about 3 years and don't know much of the league outside of Washington (and obviously the big name players). Looking forward to another good season after finally seeing us not suck last year! John wall, Bradley beal and gortat are immense. Can't wait til 2016 when Kevin Durant comes home to Washington... Then we have a legit title shot!
I'd like to say I was a Knicks fan, but in truth I haven't really been much of a fan for some time. When Larry Johnson, John Starks and Allan Houston were playing, I was watching. Then I kind of went away from basketball for a while, then got back into it when the Marbury era came about, now I'm just a passive fan, but may take more interest this year.
Was just looking at this thread and realised that in the past 4 days, we have beaten both the Bulls and the Knicks.
Washington are having an awesome season. Sitting 2nd in the East, with a record of 25 and 11 (17 and 6 in the Conference)
Paul Pierce is a machine, and John Wall has to be in consideration for MVP. He's right up there at the top of the league in most stats. Even players like Rasual Butler who historically has not been very good, are flying in this team.
I'm seriously optimistic about the next few years. With Wall and Beal, we have one of the top 3 back courts in the NBA. Things are very rosy indeed in DC at the moment.
Casual Mavs and Clippers fan. Dirk is a really likeable fellow, and he's married to Martin Olsson's sister, so even though he's an Arsenal fan he follows the Canaries. The Clippers get a look from me because of Blake Griffin (he played college ball for the Sooners).
I lived in Detroit during the Motor City Bad Boys era, and worked in The Palace during the 1990 playoffs. That was a fun time.
But I've really come to dislike the style of the game today. Jordan didn't invent the one-on-one-drive-the-lane game, but he made it extremely popular. I have a fundamental problem with the game in that it preaches non-contact, yet awards the guy driving the lane with a trip to the line even though he's the initiator of the contact because although the defender clearly has position his feet aren't planted. The drive-the-lane game abuses the rule and runs counter to Naismith's vision of the game he invented. Gimme the passing and jump shot game anytime.
