And they won...  Host Game 1 of the World Series Tuesday.

Have I mentioned recently how I'm on cloud nine?

Such a great result for KC. Going 8-0 in the post season to make the World Series. First Pennant for 29 years.

Many of my work colleagues in KC are taking today off. I think they are nursing a few sore heads.

11-0 if you count the last three games of the '85 World Series...  :)

I caught most of the game before having to head home.  If there hadn't been my kid's homecoming parade last night I would have stayed at the office the last two innings.  But I have a son in the band and a daughter who's a cheerleader, so I was stuck spending the evening at the carnival/parade/pep rally...  As it was I caught the last half inning on the radio, and had to pull over at the end because of the tears of joy pouring down my cheeks.

San Francisco is now up on St. Louis 3-1... that's too bad.  I wanted to shove another World Series win down the Cards fans throats.  I'm ambivalent about the Giants.

It's starting to look like it's going to be your world series. You couldnt have imagined this at the start of the season. :)

All I hoped for was a shot at overtaking Detroit for the division title.  We just need to get Sung Woo over here from Seoul in time for the opener.

Looks like the Giants in the World Series for the Royals then.

Bit of a shame it's not a replay 85 'show me series', but hey-ho. (3 awful ways to lose baseball games the last 3 games for the Red Birds, well the first 2 at least - simple errors)

I'll be 'rooting' for the Royals!!

It's not a Show-Me Series... it's not a Subway Series... it's a Sung Woo Series...

I can tell you I've worn a blue shirt every day since the postseason started.  I don't have any Royals attire, however.  My old gear has either been outgrown, lost in moves, or worn out over the years.  The wife offered to get me a baby blue jersey for my birthday this summer, but the replicas look like crap (not in style, but in quality) and the authentics are way too expensive ($236 for a blank, $300 for one with a name/number of a player).  I told her for that much I could probably get a half dozen Canaries shirts.

Well that was brutal.  I'm used to Shields giving up a run or two in the first inning, but it just went downhill from there.  I hope we got it out of our system last night.

Game two was much better!

Have to drive my mother up to northern Oklahoma tonight (Thursday) for her high school homecoming.  My cousin is coming down from KC Friday and we're going to watch the game together Friday night.  Should be fun.

Sky showed brief highlights today of game 2, great views from the air of the stadium, it's shaping up to be a good series

Been in Oklahoma the last couple of days visiting family.  Game 3 was great and game 4 sucked about like game 1.  The series is going to be a back & forth one.

The team was in a worse spot in '85 when they were down 3-1.  They're back in KC tomorrow and going against pitchers they've beaten.  They also get American League rules back, so the Country Breakfast will be back at DH.

We'll also have a little more control over how much water is dumped on the infield.  The Giants bogged down the basepaths to slow us down.

Good luck for tonight's game. I'll be in KC on Friday for a week, and I'd love for the place to be buzzing when I get there.

Also have tickets to Arrowhead for the Jets game. I can imagine how much that place would be buzzing should the Royals turn around this series.

Royals are 15-3 in Ventura's last 18 starts...

It'll buzz regardless... Chiefs are 4-3 and starting to roll... and Arrowhead reclaimed from Seattle the title of World's Loudest Stadium...

I was there when they initially claimed that record against Oakland last year. What a day!
